Back in July of 2020, previous athlete, Gabby Barbre, began to complain of chest pain and was taken straight to the emergency room. Gabby then followed up with a Pediatric Cardiologist where she was diagnosed with many heart defects, including ventricular inversion. Gabby was scheduled to have open-heart surgery on October 19, but doctors soon realized the procedure could not be done safely. Therefore, the only alternative for Gabby was a heart transplant.
